Currier takes its name from an old and specific trade: the currier was the craftsman who took raw tanned hide and worked it — stretching, shaving, oiling, and finishing it — into leather fit for fine goods. It was slow, exacting work, and it mattered more than almost any other step in how a piece would look, feel, and last.
We named the brand after that trade because it's the standard we hold ourselves to. Not the fastest way to make a bag. The right way.
What We Believe
Full-grain leather, left mostly alone. We don't laminate it, coat it, or press a fake grain into it. We let the hide's natural character show — the marks, the variation, the things that make it real — and we build with cuts and construction meant to be used hard and age well, not to look perfect in a box.
We'd rather make fewer things and get them right than chase every trend. That means a smaller catalog, released carefully, and pieces designed to outlast the season they were bought in.
Where We Are Today
Currier is a young brand, still building its catalog piece by piece. We're not going to pretend to a hundred years of heritage we don't have — what we can promise is materials we stand behind, construction we're not embarrassed by, and a commitment to keep getting better as we grow.
